Sales Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting Made Simple in SAP Business One

While analyzing an SAP Business One’s customer’s needs, NewIntelligence determined a requirement to budget sales by individual customer and item at the month level. It also needed aggregation by various item or customer attributes (i.e., item group, customer group, etc.). The number of combinations was difficult to manage and required significant manipulation to achieve desired results. Thus, the process would only be done annually, and budgets remained static.

With NewIntelligence’s help, the client implemented IBM Planning Analytics, enabling planning, budgeting, and forecasting from a top-down approach and leverage historical data as a foundation for upcoming budgets. The client now adjust forecasts using relative proportions with breakback capability down to the customer, item, and salesperson levels. The solution allows for use of sandboxes to test out what-if scenarios prior to committing numbers. Now budgets are tweaked throughout the year and provide an additional revised version.

Their vision was simple: to create a high-quality clothing brand to be enjoyed by patriotic Americans around the globe. In recent years their brand has grown exponentially. The challenges included lack of system visibility, difficulty in finding material, tracking work-in-progress (WIP) inventory, streamlined putaway efficiency, and warehouse capacity utilization. The Nine Line Apparel team looked at a handful of WMS solutions. WiSys won them over with its level of customer dedication, on-site evaluation, and a quick rollout.

End-to-End Supply Chain Integration: From Containers Receiving to Assembly and Order Fulfillment

A high-end bike manufacturer required a partner to implement and support a robust business management software that would integrate and optimize its inbound and outbound supply chain, from containers receiving, to product assembly, to order fulfillment. Given the critical role of its warehouse operations and a high employee turnover in that area, a warehouse management software was crucial in maximizing performance with reduced training time and in avoiding bottlenecks in production and order shipping. Additionally, the company implemented a simple tool to collect manufacturing data and track SAP production orders in real time, and a POS system to set up a small on-site store. Much to the delight of the management team, the partnership provided more long-term value with the addition of a business intelligence software powered by Tableau, allowing more data-driven decision-making. Because of the rising awareness for cybersecurity, a backup service was also added for complete peace of mind.

This session will go through the use case regarding SAP Field Service Management in conjunction with SAP Business One. We will explore a case where service intervention was required on site to repair a broken hydraulic press. In this situation, intervention takes longer than expected and partial invoicing should be done based on time and material base. On site, it was recognized that an additional technician would be required to solve software issues in the press’s software. As such, a service checklist needs to be filled out and signed digitally by the customer’s representative. Based on this flow, a detailed service report can be produced to the end customer and the back office, thus creating a complete, final invoice for service intervention.
